Keep up to date with all of our activities and events.
As you are probably aware this Sunday November 11th is Remembrance Day to remember our Military who have fallen or been injured. Most services/parades will be happening this Sunday but Penrhiwceiber has always traditionally held their service/parade the following Sunday - this year 18th November. We would like to show our appreciation by making a large Poppy to display on our railings overlooking Penrhiwceiber Road. This will be done by joining the bottoms of drinks bottles, painted red and black, together to form a large display.
There is a sample picture below.
If you would like to take part please assist your child by cutting the bottom from a plastic drinks bottle and ensuring there are no sharp edges. The small inner circle is then painted black, with all outer edges painted red.
If you are able to cut out the bottle but do not have the paints needed you are able to bring the bottle bottom into school and we can paint them here.
We are delighted to have been selected to be part of the Bags of Help project in Tesco Aberdare. From Thursday Nov 1st to Monday 31st Dec you will be able to collect tokens each time you shop. We could win anything from £1000 - £4000 to improve our school yard. Please spread the news with friends and family. Thank you. ![]()
PRIZE BINGO
The prize bingo evening was a great success and raised an amazing:
£338.00
We are grateful for all your support - all proceeds are put into the school fund and every penny goes back to the children in treats, trips, events.
A special mention must go to some of the Mums in school who worked very hard behind the scenes arranging the evening:
Mrs H Arthur, Ms L Burgess & Ms S Daniel
A big pat on the back for our resident bingo caller
Mrs M Woart
Who did a fantastic job on the night!
HARVEST CELEBRATIONS
We will be holding a Harvest Assembly on Friday 19th October 2018. This will be held in the school hall just for the children – unfortunately there is limited space so we are unable to invite parents. Father Ben will be joining us from St Winifreds Church.
We would ask if possible for a donation of a tin of food from each child. We shall then distribute these into the community via a Food Bank.
Once again we are grateful for your support.
Thank you to everyone who attended our Coffee Morning held at school.
We are very pleased to say we raised:
£90.90
This amount will be donated to the local branch of Macmillan which means the proceeds will be used within the local community.
Thank you once again.
